Audi Cabriolet TDI, 17" OZ Futura

Hello, this is my cabrio... I bought it about a half year back. There is a problem in the Czech republic to find some people with the same type of car and exchange tips and tricks. So I needed to join this club to find some inspiration or tips and tricks.

About the car - it has a TDI engine (AHU 66kW), cognac leather, heated seats, manual roof and some time ago it was repainted (from black to dark blue pearleffect).

My plans are to buy a facelift front bumper, strengthen the engine, buy coilover kit, maybe rebuild the axles from 4x108 to 5x112 (I hope I will find some information here about this operation), buy some two or three pieces wheels (or replicas maybe <osohozi> ) and tune details (eg. interior carpets, OEM antenne, OEM radio from some newer model, improve sound system, but everything depends on money :roll: )

Before buy - on Brocks

After buy - on OEM 15" wheels

...some interior cleaning, chromed instrument rings installed, gearstick from A3

...now some problems - flat belt broken, cooler wires damaged - working on it.

I forgot, it is a '98 model (made 31st March 1998, sold 15th April 1998 in Germany). I am from Ostrava, I met some people from this forum on CZ/PL VW meeting in Vrbice this year.

Brocks were nice wheels, but I didn't like front wheels without rims, so I didn't buy them. My favorite wheels now are OZ futura or some similar wheels (but the 4x108 sucks, no nice wheels in this spacing)

Today I found a nice video from czech (I think the best) meeting called Collision Event, look <lol>

He come from Ostrava? :->

I've got a question but I don't know proper word so I'll try explain the better how I can :) How many mm your car is under earth? :)

Do you think lowering? I don't know exactly, but from comparation with other cabrios I guess it is about 40 mm front and 30 mm back. What do you think? I want to buy some lower "fahrwerk" or coilovers, but I don't know which one.

On allegro I found something from MTS Technik 60/60 mm or on Ebay there is one with 75/40 mm lowering (coilovers are fucking expensive, so maybe next year :roll: )

Yes - lowering or ground clearance (?) (definition of dictionary). In my opionion you've got a lower ground clearance than 40. I think you have 60. Look at my pictures. I have -40mm with 17 inch.

I heard that Bilstein is the best ;) But MTS is cheaper.

From the ground to the edge of fender i have got 60,5 cm at front and 62,5 cm at back, tyres are 195-65-15. If you want, you can measure your car and compare with my numbers... But my rear axle needs another lowering definitely 8-)

Kolczat - I wanted to chat with you too, but I didn't know, which one is you... And the gearbox - I don't know yet, if it will fit well (it's a present from my girlfriend for Christmas ;-) ), but the guy, who sold me it told me, that it's no problem to fit the stick into my car, maybe with the leather bottom.

One way or another, when I will "transplant" the gearstick into my car, I will make some photos and give them on this forum with some information...
