Audi 80 Avant TDi - Slovenia
Hello!
My name is Rok, i am from Slovenia. I hope u dont mind if i write in English, but i dont speak Polish. Today i found this community, and i see you are a very nice group of Audi 80 lovers. I am a great B4 fan too, I own one Audi 80 Avant TDi (year 95), and i have done a lot of mods to it.
Im asking the moderators (and other members) if i can stay here and write in English, as i would like to introduce my car and my work, and hopefully contribute with knowledge to this community.
Here is a pic of the car when i bought it...
... and here is a pic of how it looks now:

Greetz.
By the way, how much did you pay for the car?
Thank you very much for the warm welcome. Let me introduce my car then.
It was completed on 22.12 1994 and i bought it on 13.02. 2006 for 3300€.
It came out of the factory with:
ABS
Front el. windows
El. heated side mirrors
Manual A/C
Twin airbag
Ambient temp. display
Heated windshield washer jets
Headlight height regulator
The previous owner was a mechanic, and it was in very very bad shape. The engine war running quite cool, but the fahrwerk was a disaster. I really rescued it from a bad end. The reasons i payed so much for a car in bad shape are:
I`m and Audi 80 freak, it is red, it is an avant, it has no roofbars, it has the latest 1Z engine, with 202nm of torque, and it can have the tempomat (cruise control) installed, and with an interface also the bordcomputer.
The same day i bought it, i resprayed the front grille in black, as i dont like crom.
the next day, i installed the aux gauges from an S2
and of course, the main gauges too
S2 brakes before
and after:
then i bought a coupe front bumper, it was already red, so i just mounted it to see how the car looks. it was ok, not perfect, but i knew i will have to search for an s2 bumper.

and yes, i found one. it needed a bit of welding.
i had to weld the s2 headlight washers holes, because u could not find the carriers (they are expensive new)
ohh the key from a new A6
Here you can see the difference between the 3 bumpers
Then i completed a new set of sticks, with the tempomat (cruise control) and bordcomputer. the right switch if from an UrS4. it has the intensive washing button, that i later used to connect the headlight washing pump.
and this is the cable i needent to make for the tempomat (CC)
then o got the speedline wheels, i wanted them for the winter tires
from ebay.de, i bought this glass button, and removed the rear wiper
bought all the grilles for the bumper
rear seat with ski sack
then i bought 2 pairs of forged control arms (2 for me, 2 for a friend)
and painted them in red of course
[ Added: 2007-06-27, 09:27 ]
RS2 headlight washer nozzles. very cheap from audi, something like 12€ one piece
Audi 90 B3 rear lights
S2 coupe seats. the fronts are heated and have lumbar adjustment.
did you ever thought of putting the rear coupe seats in an avant or limousine? i did
the bumper was finally ready to be mounted. it makes a huge difference on the car.
Ebay is great!

Steering wheel from and Audi A4, year 97
Aerowipers (very good mod!)
as you can see, they wipe pretty much everything
and they are well hidden under the hood
did i mention ebay is great?
not very low, but just right
turbo gauge, perfectly matching the s2 gauges
i love this pic 8-)

i could not stand this audi badges anymore, so i removed them with a temporary solution. i will weld the holes someday...
and what is this? one complete klimatronic
and one complete set of roof handles with light in all of them. my car was without them
this is a taxi switch. with this switch u can turn all the interior lights on with one button
and the wheels, keskin kt4, 8x17
with 215 45
[ Added: 2007-06-27, 10:25 ]
first pics with the wheels on
and then... this is the story of the rear bumper. i have been searching for an s2 rear bumper for ages, but all were very expensive, and u know, very rare. one day searching (on the great) ebay, i found the bumper i wanted. noone bought it because the seller didnt wrote is was from an S2, but just wrote audi 80. i was 150€, which is very cheap, and the shipping to Slovenia (from germany) was 60€.
test fitting
i bought new brackets from audi

The original oversized bottle for 2 pumps, one for the windscreen washing, with sensor for the autocheck, and for the pump for headlight washing.
and then, the big day came, (something more than a month ago), me and my friend intalling the klimatronic. the TDI never had the klimatronic stock.
I love it, when the play comes together!
uffff
i could not sleep that night
the next day i started from here
and finally finished
everything is ready
i think you are all aware of the problems with the control arm bushes in the B4 models. my and a friend started searching for a long term solution. there are companies that make poliurethane bushes, but they are expensive. we ended up with making our own poliurethane bushes. we had some problems, we tried different designs, and now we have the finished product. i had them on my car now for 2 months, and i can tell that this is the real thing. kickass.
something like a month ago, something terrible happened. i was in italy on a scrapyard, and i see an ford escort xr3i, and in it...
i had the leather seats from the s2, heated and everything, but this seats... they have the same shape as the RS2 seats. i just could not say no.
so i sold all the leather seats. the problem with the recaros is, that they need the subframe. 2 subframes at the cost of 200€. i can spend that money in a better way. so i made my own subframe.
testing in the car
and here is the custom subframe.
i have to make the passenger side subframe now. i will retrim the seats in leather and alcantara, like the rs2 seats, just the center peces will be in red. i will put heater elements in them too.
this is how the car looks right now
After selling the coupe leather seats, i went back to the original avant rear seats, but they were missing something. heat
so i am making them heated.
Today i will fit a xenon kit in, but right now i am going to make the passenger side subframe for the second recaro.

I had the windshield washer jets heated stock, so everything was already connected. The washer jets have a connector on them, the wires run trough the hood, and they exit the hood in the same place where the water pipe for the washers does. From there is goes to the fuse box. The button for the heating of the rear window also triggers the heating of side mirrors and windshields washers. If you still need a pic, i can make it, no problem. Just point me at what you want to see.

before doing any engine mods, i have to renew everything around the valves and and change the piston rings. this 90HP and 202nm of torque are good for now, and the car is awesome in the curves.PawelG pisze:my god
